In the text of this review we analyze the book “John Locke’s Christianity” (2021). The author of the book, Diego Lucci, is a specialist in the philosophy of the Enlightenment, particularly the English Enlightenment. This book can be viewed as a continuation of his research on such topics as religious philosophy of deism, polemics between representatives of the clergy in Great Britain in the 17th century, as well as issues of religious tolerance. In the text of the book, the author focuses on the idea of Locke as a religious enlightener, for whom rational faith, in which human reason and biblical Revelation are united, played a fundamental role. The study of the phenomenon of religious faith, from the point of view of Diego Lucci, is a necessary step for comprehending his moral philosophy. Moreover, the author of the book claims that John Locke’s reasoning represents a unique example of the Christian religion. The main task set by Diego Lucci is the reconstruction of the Christian ideas of the English thinker. The text of the book also presents the problems that religious thinkers had to solve in Great Britain in the 17th century, as well as the history of its emergence. The author of this review believes that the conclusions of Lucci can be seen as an addition to the studies of the topic of John Locke's religious philosophy, the depth of which has not yet been revealed in modern scientific literature.
